I am the Realtor® that makes things move in The Lane Real Estate Team, while my husband Joe is the dude that provides the marketing that gives me the great clients I have. My sole purpose in life is to serve God, family, and clients. Joe's sole purpose in life is to serve God, me, and family (and ski). We have five children, all at home, all ours. We've been happily married for 23 years, and Joe has forgotten the anniversary almost all of those years! We service the Tri Cities Washington real estate market to include Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco, Washington. Oh, our Tri Cities Wa Luxury Home is for sale!

Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to bookmark it and come back to it. It's too much for my tired brain to absorb now!
Lots of info, Colleen. I'll bookmark it and peruse later when I have some more time.
Wow thanks for the whole list, it will take same time to implement but some great ideas.
Thanks for the comments folks!
Just a reminder, anyone adding links to the Squidoo lens link plexos (see above) can add anchor text as well. FYI! :)
Colleen - The reason why you rank #1 in google for the search phrase "best outside active rain blog" is because you created a blog post with that phrase in the title. This is why titles are so important...they are given a lot of weight. It doesn't have that much to do with links you are garnering. That search phase would be highly uncompetitive and that's why the fact you made a post with it in the title makes you come up 1st.
I commend you for all the work you have done at Squidoo it is awesome! After looking over this post I will give you a tip that will help you in the search engines. I have noticed that you are calling your blog "Colleen's Blog" or Active Colleen. You are missing out on the opportunity to use proper keyword anchor text. You should be using Real Estate keywords such as Kennewick Washington Real Estate or homes.
Hope this helps:)
Great ideas, and thanks for sharing your enthusiasm. Am going to check it all out.
Thanks for stopping by Li!
@Bill Gassett,
Understood about the blog title! Regarding linking. Actually, the examples of ranking are not to show links, but to show authority. In my blog entry I mention this. If I may quote, "...This shows the authority of some of the locations we are garnering links from..." :o)
Thanks for the information. This really looks good. I'm going to bookmark it so I can come back to it again.
Colleen- Thanks for your entry into the Fall Outside Blog Contest!
Colleen- Bill is giving you some excellent tips on Linking that will help increase your ranking! Great stuff Bill!
Thanks Jeremy, I know Bill's information is good. I'm subscribed to his feed! ;)
WOW...you are really on top of the latest marketing. Congrats for doing such a good job!!!
Colleen, my outside blog is not getting indexed yet, either is Cyndee Haydon's as we talked about this at NAR. Now not sure what to do. Any thoughts?
Hi Missy,
I agree, there are some issues with the outside blogs. Right now, www.colleenlane.com is showing a cache. See here. Perhaps all the links we have pointing to it is doing the trick?
On the other hand, my daughter's outside blog, wwww.cassielane.com is showing the dreaded "HTTP 404 Not Found" error code.
Lastly, my husband's property management outside blog is not cached. See here.
Anyway, not sure what to do. We submitted a bug report for Cassie's blog, but nothing has changed yet.
Thanks, it shows I am cashed but it's weird because I have no placement, somewhat concerned about the duplicate content going out there. I know Google says it is Ok to post on 2-4 of your personal blogs but it would be nice if the AR outside blogs had more authority. I don't post everything I write here over to AR outside.
I suspect one reason you are getting more placement is you are with webmasters and there SEO rocks.
You're right Missy, REW does a good job at SEO. The SEO REW offers is a paid service. However, we do all of our own SEO! ;)
That's a TON Of information - thanks, I'm bookmarking it too!
Yes Eleanor, a lot of information to digest. However, well worth the effort. See here. :o)
